Customer segments: target the right audience

Segmented campaigns outperform blasts — a winback offer for lapsed customers and a VIP preview for top spenders beat one generic message to everyone.

Option 1: SuperLemon customer groups

  1. Go to Customers → Customer Groups → Create Customer Group.
  2. Name the group and set up to three conditions — order count, total spend, opt-in status, last order date, abandoned cart, etc.
  3. Save. Use the group as a campaign audience, or message it directly with Send Message. Groups can be edited, deleted, or exported anytime.

Option 2: Shopify Segments (Scale plan)

Build segments in Shopify admin (Customers → Segments) with Shopify's full filter language, then select the segment when creating a SuperLemon campaign — data syncs automatically. You can also trigger WhatsApp sends from Shopify's segment actions.

Segments that convert

  • Winback — no order in 60/90 days + opted in
  • VIP — 3+ orders or top-decile spend → early access, no discount needed
  • COD-heavy — for prepaid-conversion offers
  • Cart abandoners — for manual follow-ups beyond the automation

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Shopify customer segments for WhatsApp campaigns?

Yes — on the Scale plan, SuperLemon integrates with Shopify Segments, so any segment you build in Shopify (VIPs, repeat buyers, big spenders) can be targeted with a WhatsApp campaign directly.
