WhatsApp Coexistence: use the Business App and the API on the same number

Historically, putting a number on the WhatsApp Business API meant deleting it from the WhatsApp Business App — losing your day-to-day chat workflow. Coexistence removes that trade-off: one number, active in both places.

What you get

How to enable it

  1. Pick a paid SuperLemon plan (Brand or Scale).
  2. Start the WhatsApp setup and choose "I want to use WhatsApp Business App + API on the same number."
  3. During the Meta signup, select "Connect your existing Business App" after logging in with Facebook, and scan the QR code from your phone.
  4. That's it — no migration, no number change, no lost chats.

Rules & limitations to know

  • Don't uninstall the WhatsApp Business App, and open it at least once every ~2 weeks, or the connection is dropped by Meta.
  • Brand-new Business App accounts may not be eligible immediately — Meta gates Coexistence by account tenure and quality.
  • All normal API rules apply: template approval, quality rating and messaging limits.

What is WhatsApp Coexistence?

Coexistence is a Meta feature that lets one WhatsApp Business number be active in the WhatsApp Business App and on the WhatsApp Business API at the same time. You keep chatting from the app; API software like SuperLemon sends automations and campaigns from the same number, and messages stay in sync on both sides.

Will I lose my chat history if I connect my number to the API?

No. With Coexistence your number is not migrated — the Business App keeps working with all its history, and new messages are mirrored between the app and SuperLemon's inbox.

What are the rules for Coexistence?

Keep the WhatsApp Business App installed and open it at least once every 14 days; don't uninstall it. Your app account should be established (newly created accounts may not be eligible immediately). Otherwise, normal API rules — templates, opt-ins, quality rating — apply.
