WhatsApp marketing campaigns: create, target and send
Campaigns send a promotional WhatsApp template to many opted-in customers at once — product launches, offers, back-in-stock alerts, festivals. Available on the Scale plan.
Create a campaign
- Open Campaigns → Create New Campaign and name it.
- Write your message — compose it right in the flow (SuperLemon creates and submits the WhatsApp template for you), or pick an existing approved template. Supports images, videos, carousels (multiple swipeable cards, each with its own link), buttons, and variables like the customer's name.
- Add an opt-out button — recommended for every marketing send; SuperLemon honours opt-outs automatically.
- Pick the audience:
- Customer segments — use SuperLemon groups or Shopify Segments (no spreadsheets needed);
- File upload — any CSV/Excel with phone numbers; SuperLemon maps your columns automatically, no reformatting required.
- Test it — send a test message to your own number first.
- Send or schedule — launch now or schedule for the time your customers actually shop.
Track results
Click any campaign to see the delivery funnel — sent → delivered → read — plus failure reasons explained in plain English (invalid number, no WhatsApp account, limit reached…). See campaign analytics.
Good hygiene
- Message customers who expect to hear from you — it protects deliverability.
- Watch your daily messaging limit — split big audiences across days if needed.
- Keep frequency low and value high; every send affects your quality rating.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send bulk WhatsApp messages to my customers?
Yes — with a WhatsApp Business API number and opted-in customers, SuperLemon campaigns send approved template messages in bulk, with scheduling, targeting by segment, and delivery analytics. Sending without opt-in risks your number.
Do I need to create a template before sending a campaign?
Not anymore. Write your message inside the campaign flow — SuperLemon creates and submits the WhatsApp template for you and sends the campaign once it's approved.
When is the best time to send a WhatsApp campaign?
Send when your customers are awake and shopping — typically mid-morning or early evening in their timezone. Use campaign scheduling to time sends, and avoid more than 1–2 marketing messages per week per customer to protect your quality rating.
